Main Page
The research program of the Astrophysics and Space Forum includes investigations of neutron stars and their environments, accretion disks around neutron stars and black holes. We approach to those unresolved astrophysical issues from both theoretical and observational points of view.

Research Program
Some of the projects that we conduct or participate are:
  • Spin evolution of Anomalous X-ray Pulsar (AXP*)
  • Burst induced changes in X-ray emission of Soft Gamma Repeaters (SGR*)
  • Internal structure of neutron stars
  • Accretion/Ejection around black holes
  • Modeling accretion disks around black holes and neutron stars with irrediation effects
  • Timing of neutron stars and black holes
  • Nuclear and atomic line emission from astrophysical sources
  • Polarization
  • Supernova remnants, with their central compact objects (CCOs)
  • Gamma-ray and SGR bursts.
  • Astrophysical instrumentation
For these projects we conduct theoretical work as well as observational work. Members of the Group are PI or Co-I of accepted proposals for several observatories, including:
  • TUBITAK National Observatory (TUG) in optical
  • SPITZER in infrared
  • Chandra
  • XMM-Newton
  • INTEGRAL
  • RXTE
  • Suzaku
  • Swift in X- and Gamma-rays.
